Body Condition Score (BCS)

There has been a lot of talk about BCS during earlier races. The reason that we have a great focus on this is that the dogs should be physically well equipped to start races.

Body weight is a good indicator of this as the dogs usually burn more energy than they manage to absorb during races. The ranking system runs between 1-7. Whether a dog is 5 or 6 in BCS is less relevant, we are looking for the dogs in the end of the scale either way. If a dog shows a tendency to lose weight significantly and start to approach 3, this will be a dog we pay close attention to. Wondering how we’re deciding BCS? Read more here and print out the form with BCS if you want.

I’m interested.
